Services: Why physical therapy? |
||
| According to the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professionals the reason someone would visit a Physical Therapist for treatment are:
Most people are familiar with points 1 – 4 but unless you exercise regularly for body conditioning you may experience the following difficulties, which make point number 5 extremely important:
The regular demands on life can cause this de-conditioning. Whether your job or your daily activities at home are demanding or not, they are generally not done with conditioning in mind. In fact, the way these activities are performed is the cause of the de-conditioning. Physical Therapy can help you recondition your body and help you develop healthy work patterns that prevent de-conditioning. Additionally, most people avoid fitness activities because of one of the above symptoms. Physical Therapy can help you correct any physical difficulties you are having which are limited or preventing your fitness activities. Living with pain from surgery or injuries can lead a person into a life of expensive and addictive medications, which themselves do not treat the pain, but only the symptoms, and relief is temporary at best. Physical Therapy restores mobility in the spine and the joints, rebuilds healthy tissues and increases the energy flow throughout the body. Precise PT Programs will also improve your muscle flexibility and endurance. Physical Therapy restores to the full end of range of motion. If your tired, have difficulties with pain, bad posture, poor flexibility and mobility – in other words, if your body is not 100% - don’t wait. Physical Therapy is the road to good health. PAIN = A Condition. Don’t try to fix it yourself at the gym. You might make it worse. NO PAIN = Great! Go to the gym. When mobility is restored to the full range of motion then inflammation flushes out. Muscle and the surrounding tissues increase in strength and elongation. |
